Grant Funding

SBIR/STTR Grants

Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) grants are available to small businesses through several federal participating agencies, including the Department of Health and Human Services.

BBC Entrepreneurial Training and Consulting

BBC Entrepreneurial Training and Consulting provides SBIR/STTR grant writing training seminars, grant writing assistance and review, and commercialization planning assistance to small businesses. Michigan Emerging Technologies Fund

The MI Small Business Development Center (MI-SBDC) and Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) formed the Michigan Emerging Technologies Fund to match a percentage of funds awarded through SBIRs. The application for matching funds must be completed at least ten (10) days prior to the federal submission date for the SBIR grant.

This fund matches 25% of Phase I SBIRs up to $25,000 and 25% of Phase II SBIRs up to $125,000.
