October 2010 – Pediatric Device Conference November 18-19,
2010: The Pediatric Medical Device Institute (PMDI) has
announced its first pediatric device conference on topics related
to the commercialization of pediatric medical devices. In addition
to two tracks of presentations, the following speakers will be
featured: Mark Delmonte, Director of Washington, DC Office,
American Academy of Pediatricians, Steve Hirschfeld, Associated
Director for Clinical Research, NICHD, Susan Cummins, FDA Senior
Science Advisor. Registration is $75.
October 2010 - DesignWise Medical First Patent Filing:
Minneapolis-based pediatric device not-for-profit files a patent
for an overnight pediatric oxygen delivery system.
May 2010 – Pediatric Catheter Company Launched:
PediaWorks and Medikit Co., Ltd. announced the formation of
PediaCath, Inc., a joint venture to help
alleviate the severe shortage of medical devices for use in
pediatric patients.
May 2010 – M-PED Expands to Collaborate the PMDI:Pediatric Medical Device Institute (PMDI) provdes a
strong network of children’s hospitals and an existing portfolio of
device ideas moving toward commercialization. The two organizations
will exchange training assets and best practices on advancing
pediatric devices.
April 2010 – Fourth Pediatric Device Consortium Grant
Awarded: Founded jointly by SRI International and Stanford
University, MISTRAL will collaborate with the Institute for Pediatric Innovation (IPI).
