I had the opportunity to pitch my project to senior biomedical engineering students at the University of Michigan. The students and I are working together, with M-PED support, to develop product specifications and create a functional prototype.
Dr. James Geiger is Executive Director of the Michigan Pediatric Device Consortium (M-PED) and a Professor of Surgery at the University of Michigan, where he also serves as Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Program and Surgical Director of the Pediatric Comprehensive Weight Management Center. Dr. Geiger earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his General Surgery residency, a Surgical Critical Care fellowship, and a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor. He is board certified in pediatric surgery, general surgery, and surgical critical care.
